Meet Captain Lance Sweeting
Fishing has been part of Lance Sweeting's life since day one. Today, he brings that experience, enthusiasm and love of Wisconsin's waters to every trip with Great Day Guide Service.
GREAT DAY GUIDE SERVICE
A Lifetime Built Around Fishing
Lance Sweeting's connection to Wisconsin fishing started early. Growing up on the west shores of Lake Winnebago, Lance and his father fished almost daily. While other kids were riding their bikes, Lance could often be found watering the lawn to gather nightcrawlers to sell and use for fishing.
That early fascination never went away. Fishing became more than a pastime—it became a lifelong passion and eventually a profession. Through Great Day Guide Service, Lance now gets to share the experience with anglers who want to learn, improve their skills or simply enjoy a memorable day on Wisconsin's waters.
For Lance, guiding isn't only about putting fish in the boat. It's about teaching, sharing the outdoors and watching someone experience the excitement of a great catch.

Great Day Guide Service is built around more than catching fish. It's about helping people enjoy Wisconsin's outdoors, learn something new and leave the water with a story worth telling.
Time On The Water
Years of fishing Wisconsin waters give Lance the experience to help anglers approach each day with practical knowledge and hands-on guidance.
Learn While You Fish
Jigging, casting, bobbers and other techniques can all become part of the experience. Lance enjoys helping anglers understand what they're doing and why.
Make It A Great Day
The goal is a comfortable, welcoming fishing trip where anglers can enjoy the water, learn, laugh and hopefully head home with a great catch and great memories.
The Water Is Where Lance Wants To Be
When Lance isn't guiding, there's a good chance he's still in the boat looking for the next bite. His time on the water isn't limited to charter days—fishing is simply part of who he is.
That enthusiasm carries over to his guests. Whether you're an experienced angler trying to sharpen your approach or someone fishing for the first time, Lance's goal is to make the day approachable, enjoyable and worth remembering.
And when he isn't fishing, Lance enjoys time in the woods looking for that next “Thirty Pointer.”

The Great Day Approach
Every trip is different, but the principles behind Great Day Guide Service stay the same.
Safety First
Conditions on the water come first. Lance makes trip decisions with the safety and comfort of his guests as the priority.
Hands-On Guidance
Ask questions, learn techniques and get practical guidance throughout the day rather than simply being along for the ride.
Welcoming Trips
First-time fishermen, experienced anglers, families and groups can all enjoy a trip built around their experience level.
Great Memories
A successful trip isn't measured only by the catch. The goal is to create a day you'll genuinely enjoy remembering.
Great Fishing Memories Start Young
Some of the best days on the water are the ones that introduce someone new to fishing. Great Day Guide Service welcomes families and younger anglers who are ready to experience Wisconsin fishing.
Lance's hands-on approach helps make fishing approachable for new anglers while still giving experienced fishermen a day they can enjoy. The objective is simple: keep people involved, help them learn and make the experience fun.
